Cookie Policy

This page lists the browser storage Chrispy Slips actually uses. Not all of it is a cookie — most of what we set is localStorage, which never leaves your device.

Essential (always on)

  • • Consent record — localStorage. Remembers the choice you make in the banner so we don't ask again.
  • • UI preferences — localStorage. Small interface state such as sidebar open/closed and similar layout choices.
  • • Sign-in session — storage set by our authentication provider. Only ever created if you sign in, which is for site administrators.

Analytics (only with your consent)

We run first-party pageview counting on our own servers. We do not set an analytics cookie and we do not use Google Analytics. When you allow analytics, each page view sends the path, referrer, campaign tags, coarse country/region, device class, and a daily-rotating pseudonymous identifier. Details are in the Privacy Policy. Reject analytics and no beacon is sent.

Advertising (only with your consent)

Advertising is currently disabled on this site, so no advertising script runs at all. If advertising is enabled in future we would use Google AdSense, and its script would still be not loaded at all unless you allow advertising, and we send Google a consent signal (Google Consent Mode) that defaults to denied. Once allowed, Google may set its own cookies and browser storage to serve and measure ads under Google's policies. Ads never appear on the Help, sign-in, admin, or legal pages.

Notifications and service worker

If you allow browser notifications, your browser creates a push subscription and stores permission state itself; we keep the subscription so the alerts you asked for can be delivered. Alerts are optional and each category — Featured Lines, market moves, new Staff Slips — is opted into separately, with no account required, and can be turned back off at any time. A service worker is registered to receive those alerts and open the right page when you tap one. It does not cache site content for tracking purposes. Turning notifications off in your browser settings ends this.

Retention

Browser storage stays until you clear it or change your choice below. We don't quote retention periods for anything we haven't actually implemented a deletion schedule for.

Your choices

Accept all, reject non-essential with one click, or pick categories in the banner. Rejecting non-essential prevents both the analytics beacon and the Google advertising script. You can change your mind at any time.
