Defensive fronts
Bear front
A front that covers both guards and the center, taking away interior run lanes.
A bear front covers the center and both guards with down linemen. With nobody free to climb to the second level, interior runs have nowhere clean to go and the offense is pushed outside or into the air.
It is a situational front rather than a base look, most common in short yardage.
