Defensive coordinator
The coach who designs the defense and, in most cases, calls the plays.
The defensive coordinator designs the defense and, in most cases, calls the plays. His tendencies — how much man coverage, how often he blitzes, what he does on third down — carry from job to job.
Every defense on the site is labelled by its coordinator because the scheme travels with the coach, not the roster.
