Fullback (FB)

The fullback lines up in front of the running back and blocks, most often as a lead blocker through a gap or as a kick-out man on the edge. He touches the ball rarely, usually in short yardage or near the goal line.

Only a handful of NFL teams carry a true fullback, and those teams tend to be heavy 21 personnel offenses.
